Our Philosophy

Persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities have the same rights and protections afforded all citizens. Because of their disability, we accept the responsibility to assist them in exercising these rights so they may achieve the quality of life enjoyed by all.

Our Mission

• ADVOCATE for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in order to afford protection of their rights and to improve their quality of life

• PROVIDE needed services for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families, in collaboration with other agencies and organizations

• EDUCATE the public to instill a better understanding of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities

• PROMOTE RESEARCH in prevention, education and training of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Our Profile

The Mobile Arc, was established in 1956 to respond to the needs of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Mobile Arc is a member of the Arc of Alabama, the National Arc, the United Way of Southwest Alabama.

From inception, membership has been vital to our success. A growing membership will be even more important to our future.
